Mint conditions for Masters

Ruataniwha put on stunning conditions last weekend for 87 Masters competitors from across the South Island, representing clubs from Nelson to Riverton. South Island Rowing ran 35 events over the Saturday and Sunday, with a prizegiving on Saturday and ribbons for event placings.

Dunstan Arm Rowing Club and Avon Rowing Club proved themselves to be the current powerhouses of Masters’ Rowing in the south, with 9 titles going to the Dunstan team, and 8 heading to Christchurch with the Avon team.

A wonderful weekend was had by all, including 22 volunteers. A special birthday celebration was had for race official Geoff Taggart – happy 60th Geoff!

SIR would like to thank all the participants and would love to hold the event again, a date for next year will be looked into.
