SIR Masterplan Strategy

Ahead of the 46th Annual General Meeting for South Island Rowing Inc. (“SIR”), the Board would like to share this Masterplan Strategy document with the rowing community, and to thank you for your input to date. SIR would also like to acknowledge the support from our principle sponsor Meridian Energy whose input into project investigations has been significant.

Stakeholders of SIR have indicated the desire to have a clearer direction for future changes around the site and a document with a long term focus which guides future board members as well as current ones.

A Masterplan Strategy sets out ‘the big picture’ vision for how a given place may grow or change to meet future needs. It provides direction for decision makers in regard to future management, design and development, while understanding the need to engage with stakeholders and the community. It can be used as a tool to address challenges or opportunities related to site functionality, the built components, movement, the natural environment, business and economy, culture or heritage.

Your input does not stop here.

As a non-profit organisation, SIR needs the support of the local and wider rowing community in order to properly plan and undertake any project. From our talented volunteer community we draw expertise, volunteer hours, ideas and physical materials. This Strategy provides the SIR Board the ability to progress as opportunities and resources present themselves, knowing how this may fit within the bigger picture.

Printed copies of this document will be available at the SIR 46th AGM on May 14th. You are welcome to send feedback to feedback@ruataniwha.co.nz.
