Without Max, this would not have become a reality. 🩵It’s 40 years since Lake Ruataniwha hosted NZ Rowing Championships for the 1st time.The course came to be thanks to an uncompromising engineer who loved nothing more than giving Wellington bureaucrats a piece of his mind down the telephone line. 2025 New Zealand Rowing ChampionshipsLAKE CLOSURE Please be advised that in accordance with the Ecan Navigation Safety Bylaws, Lake Ruataniwha will be closed to power driven vessels for the New Zealand Rowing Championships from Saturday 15th to Saturday 22nd February 2025 (inc.) Sunday 23rd February is a ‘Spare Day’The lake will remain closed following racing each day for crew training.Lake closure on Sun 23rd February, the ‘Spare Day’, will be advised as soon as possible if this is required.
